• The way these three create content is quite similar. They have textual-based output, browse webs for real-time information, grab information from multiple sources, and then summarize information. They offer free plans before paid versions and are capable of working across different fields. 
• All of them are designed to understand and respond to your queries naturally. That’s why they are built to have a human-like conversation and support text-based interactions. DeepSeek is holding to text-based tasks, and Gemini and ChatGPT can also handle image and audio prompts.

ChatGPT

OpenAI developed ChatGPT and its refined version GPT-4o is its most recent version with an even more cost-effective model GPT-4o. ChatGPT is best for content repurposing, text transcription, and SEO tasks. 

However, ChatGPT has some weaknesses too. For instance, it is prone to grab incorrect or biased information. Although it is good at content creation, it has higher computational costs for large-scale applications. Since it is primarily a text-based model that’s why it lacks native multimodal capabilities.

Gemini

Google’s DeepMind developed Gemini is best for text-based information,  analyzing videos, and generating images. Gemini which was designed to connect directly to your business working is a multimodal tool, has strong ethical considerations,  and processes queries in text, images, audio, and videos natively. It is a smart choice for businesses because it has a built-in feature to avoid mistakes and biases. Its integration with Google’s tools makes it a better AI solution for businesses that are using Google Workspace.

However, Gemini is less customizable than ChatGPT and it sometimes also suggests inaccurate answers. Usually, all LLMs are prone to mistakes and their facts should be rechecked. Gemini’s responses are also less confident as compared to ChatGPT.

DeepSeek

DeepSeek is a reasoning model with a fraction of investment. It enables optimizing GPU to GPU conversation to make training easier. It is one of the cheapest training models for businesses. 

DeepSeek is faster and inexpensive but it does have security problems. It is a low-cost, open-source LLM that is challenging U.S. tech giants. With the launch of DeepSeek, Chinese AI development disrupted the notion of high-cost AI tools. DeepSeek R1 is under an open-source license and enables free use. However, the release of Google Gemini 2 Pro and Open AI O3 are giving a tough competition to DeepSeek. 

Difference Between the Model Architecture

• Gemini which was formerly known as Bard is designed for multimodal understanding which enables it to seamlessly process text, audio, and video. Gemini is a pre-trained model with 2-3 trillion tokens and is a transfer-based model designed to handle various input types. Gemini 2.0 Pro supports more than 2 million tokens and has a superior capability of handling multimedia content and extensive documents. It is good for those who need multimodal AI tools for deeper integration with Google’s ecosystem.
• ChatGPT (specifically GPT-4) with 1.8 trillion parameters is designed on a transfer-based model architecture. ChatGPT activates all its parameters to provide high-quality and consistent performance. ChatGPT has a massive computing demand and its estimated cost exceeds $100 million. It supports up to 128k tokens. 
• DeepSeek uses Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture. This means that when we use a prompt, just a subset of its 671 billion parameters is activated. This makes DeepSeek highly efficient in coding and mathematics. The training of DeepSeek was completed in 55 days using 2048 Nvidia H800 GPUs and its training cost is $5.5 million to $6 million which is far less than the cost OpenAI spends on GPT-4. It is designed for technical efficiency and supports 128K tokens just like ChatGPT-4 which makes it competitive for long-context applications, best for developers and researchers. ChatGPT excels its competitors in NLP, general reasoning, and creative writing. It’s best for businesses and educators.  ChatGPT requires more GPUs and computational resources than DeepSeek.

Here’s What We Found

The result is based on the scoring of each tool according to their responses. We found that although ChatGPT excels in speed and crisp answers, DeepSeek takes more time to respond and provides detailed explanations like Gemini.

We analyzed the three tools and discovered that ChatGPT delivers the most accurate information as compared to DeepSeek. While Gemini misses the recent updates it does provide generalized answers. Also, ChatGPT can summarize front-page news but Gemini does not access real-time news updates. On the other hand, DeepSeek offers outdated responses because of its October 2023 cutoff.

In terms of recent advancements in APC technology, both ChatGPT and Gemini provide solid updates. ChatGPT offers the most relevant information faster while DeepSeek delays due to its outdated knowledge.

When we compared ChatGPT vs. Gemini vs DeepSeek on logical reasoning challenges both ChatGPT and Gemini excel in solving logical reasoning but DeepSeek took a significantly longer time. In coding tasks, DeepSeek is slower but it does give a detailed breakdown of the code generation.

In creative writing criteria, ChatGPT and Gemini were quick with engaging content based on prompts. DeepSeek has a unique narrative style but is slower than its counterparts.

In mathematical reasoning, NLP, and Research questions, ChatGPT and Gemini were fast with clear explanations. Gemini even offers more detailed answers. DeepSeek takes longer but its answer had depths.

DeepSeek AI is a new competitor from China against established ChatGPT and Gemini. We conducted a test of series to determine the performance difference between the three. According to our findings with similar prompts, DeepSeek offers slow yet detailed answers. Gemini performs well but ChatGPT wins on speed and creativity.
